If you've been keeping up with my Blog, you will have already discovered that I consider Lana Del Rey a Fashion Icon. So, it's no surprise that I would whip up a quick Fashion Tutorial, recreating a lovely Floral Headband that you all could make to wear on the Crown of your pretty lil' heads! And, the BEST part of this DIY . . . You can get EVERYTHING from the DOLLAR STORE! Woohoo! One Flower Crown literally cost me only $3 to make, (minus the glue gun I already owned). A much more affordable option than what many online retail stores are charging, which is well over $30-$80! Way overpriced, if you ask me!
This tutorial is so easy, and only takes a few minutes. Throw on some Lana Del Rey music to get you in a whimsical mood, and have a go at it! This is PERFECT Spring/Summer Accessory to dress up your outfit! The possibilities are endless . . . Go BOLD like me, and use large flowers, or for something more subtle, you can choose smaller flowers. Be sure to link me to photos of YOUR own handmade floral crowns in the comments section, I'd love to see your beautiful creations!

- Fake Flowers from Craft Store or Dollar Store (I purchased mine from the '99Cents Only Store')
- Comfortable Fitting Headbands (I prefer the ones with Fabric, as they are softer on my ole noggin')
- Glue Gun
- And some Lana Del Rey Music (Optional, but highly recommended!)
Step 1. Gather Your Faux Flowers and decide which ones you would like to use. I chose feminine pink roses with some white flowers.
Step 2. Plug your glue gun in and make sure you have some extra glue sticks handy nearby, just in case you need a few extra. This project required only one glue stick per headband. For some reason, the dollar store didn't sell plain fabric-covered headbands, so while my glue gun was heating up, I pulled off the corny doily things that my headbands already had attached to them.
Step 3. Pull off the tops of the flowers from the green plastic stems. Most fake flowers are made to easily pop off their stems with ease with a lil' pull.
Step 4. Once you have popped off each of your flowers from their stems, snip off that bit of excess stem with some scissors Make sure you cut AWAY from your face, we wouldn't want one of those little plastic bits flying right into your eye! LOL! Be careful that you don't get too 'snip happy' by cutting off too much, it will cause your flower to fall apart.
Step 5: Decide how you would like your floral arrangement before gluing. Lay everything out to give yourself an idea of how you would like your headband creation to look.
Step 6: Once you've decided on how you'd like your headband to look, it's time to get gluing! The technique I used is squeeze a bit of the glue onto the headband first, then an additional dab directly onto the flower itself. Press and hold your flower down for several seconds until it appears dry. Be careful not to glop the glue on, the last thing you want is a gooey, hot mess!
